What got you into this business?
My background was in PR in school, my mom wanted me to go into broadcasting to be a news anchor but I never wanted to be in front of the camera. I really liked the idea of running things behind the scene.
What driving career goals do you still have?
I’d like to see my name on the wall one day. I know that every task whether big or small prepares me to purchase my own office space one day and thrive.
What's your favorite sports team?
Houston Rockets because it always reminds me of home, I hold on to our Clutch City era like it was last year’s finals game.
Where did you grow up and what was it like?
I grew up in Houston, Texas. I grew up with a very culturally diverse group of friends and I think it’s what has always sparked my interest to travel, try new foods and be open to ideas and beliefs outside of my own.
What was college like for you?
It was my chance to immerse myself in my community for the first time. I went to Xavier because it was important to me to attend an HBCU. It was almost half the size of my high school when we really started back up. My freshman year started two weeks before Hurricane Katrina. It was really difficult continuing education in New Orleans after the storm. We unfortunately didn’t have the same experience as the students before and now. However, my class has a unique bond and I wouldn’t change that for the world.
What are two things most people don't know about you?
I tested into my middle and high school’s accelerated programs that focused on foreign languages. I studied Latin, French and Spanish, taking nearly 7 years of French. In high school, I took culture courses and fell in love with Hindu culture.
