What got you into this business?
As a kid, I remember being fascinated by humor tactics in commercials and the simple fact that in 15-30 seconds the spot could bring joy and stir conversations amongst family and friends. Do you remember the Geico Squirrel commercial? (It’s one of my all-time favorites.) Although I changed my mind about my career choices growing up, I always came back to my desire to connect with people and showcase creativity. So, I checked the Mass Communication box on my college application, then landed my first gig in a fantastic advertising agency and never looked back.
What’s your favorite travel destination?
I love sunshine and the sound of waves, so any coastal city.
What is your method for coming up with ideas and solutions for clients?
I like to get a little messy before getting organized. From the first client interaction, I like to clear my mind of any premature ideas by doing a brain dumping exercise. It helps give me clarity and is a great way to not forget any great ideas before I dive into the research phase. Once I’ve gathered all necessary research, I dive into brainstorming and organizing my ideas by strategic touch-points that are key to client’s success.
If you weren’t in PR, what would you be doing?
I enjoy teaching and helping people discover their own passions, so I’d likely become a professor.
What do you do for fun outside of the office?
When I’m not binge-watching the latest Netflix series, my husband and I are either meeting friends to try out new restaurants and bars, heading to a concert or music festival, hanging out with our rescue pup, or making our next travel plans.
