Where did you grow up and what was it like?

I’m an Army Brat so we moved around a great deal in my formative years. Born in Germany, I had stints in Oklahoma, northern and southern Louisiana, Georgia and Alabama, including time on Dauphin Island. From kindergarten through undergrad I attended 13 different schools. Then I kept moving as a young adult with time spent in Scotland and New York. To be honest I learned to adapt quickly and get along with many different groups of people. It’s served me well working in PR to say the least.

Who’s had the biggest influence on your career?

This is a bit unconventional, but I’d have to say Aaron Sorkin. I dream of a world where people converse in Sorkin-esque vocabulary and speed. Language is a powerful tool for making connections and how you deliver your message is often as important as the words themselves. I try and keep that in mind when working with clients in my job every day.

What are some things most people don’t know about you?

My dream job originally was to be a wildlife photographer and journalist for National Geographic. I have an extreme love of the natural world and the plight of animals is a cause near and dear to my heart. I’d love to use my talents to help further that cause in the future (and to visit the Serengeti for a month).

What talent do you wish you had?

Does the ability to not push the snooze button on my morning alarm four times count?
